Ça y est, les nouvelles sont bonnes ! Après discussion avec l'Atelier des Amplis, je commence ma formation la semaine prochaine ! Nous allons nous servir d'un kit d'ampli à monter soi-même comme outil pédagogique. Le kit est arrivé, il va bien. Voilà le schéma du monstre:

Things finally are getting better! After dissussing with l'Atelier des Amplis, I'm starting the training next week. We decided we would use a DIY amp kit as a training support. It made it to the workshop and It's alive and kicking. Here's the monster's schematics:
Déroulement de la formation :
- Une première séance pour me mettre sur les rails, pour que je monte le kit en autonomie, en comprenant bien ce que je fais grâce à la documentation que David m'a conseillée.
- Une séance bilan toutes les deux semaines, qui permettront de faire le point sur mon avancée et les difficultés rencontrées.
- Une fois le kit monté et compris, on passera à sa modification : qu'est-ce qu'on peut changer, dans quel but, quel intérêt ?
- Enfin, une fois que ces points seront bien ancrés dans ma mémoire, du travail "en vrai" sur les amplis de l'Atelier.
Si vous avez de vieux amplis dont vous ne vous servez pas et dont vous ne savez pas quoi faire, je les récupère volontiers, pour me faire la main dessus. Je considérerai ça comme une contribution :) Par exemple, j'ai récupéré un Laney super vintage à transistors, qui doit dater de la fin des années 60 ou du début des années 70. Il est bien beau dedans !
Here is how it goes :
- The first lesson will help get me started, so I can work on the kit on my own, and understand every step I take thanks to the documents David provided.
- A one-day course every two weeks to bust the issues I'm experiencing.
- Once the amp is finished and understood, we will modify it : what can be changed, what's to point and to what end?
- Finally, when all of this is aquired, I'll get to work on some real amps in the workshop.
If you have some old amps you do not use and you want to get rid of, I'd be more than happy to have them, to train on them. I'd take it as a contribution :) For instance, I got this Laney super vintage amp, dating back to the late 60s or early 70s. It is in mint condition inside, despite leaking electrolytic caps, and is one of the first solid-state amps !
Idem si vous avez de vieilles guitares perdues dans votre grenier. Je suis en train d'entreprendre la restauration de celle-ci, guitare premier prix achetée d'occasion il y a une trentaine d'années. Elle a un montage typique des années 70. Malgré son état de corrosion avancé, l'électronique fonctionne parfaitement après un coup de bombe contact ! Le manche a besoin d'être retravaillé, normal pour une guitare qui a passé une dizaine d'années dans un placard avec la moitié de ses cordes. Pour cette restauration, je suivrai les conseils avisés de Nicolas Gamond, luthier à Clermont Musique.
Same with old guitars lost in your basement. I am getting around the restoration of this cheap electric guitar, bought second hand about 30 years ago. It is a typical 70s mounting. The electronics are badly corroded, but it produces some sound through the pickups and pots are not crackly at all after cleaning them. The neck is all bent and needs some work to flatten it, but it is quite normal for a guitar that's spent the last 10 years in a closet with only a couple strings on. For this restauration I will be following Nicolas Gamond's advices. He is the luthier at Clermont Musique (music shop).

Ce serait super chouette, mais vous êtes déjà géniaux d'avoir soutenu le projet jusqu'ici, et pour ça, MERCI ! Le projet d'atelier fait sens grâce à vous tous ! :D

That would be more than awesome, but you're already over the top for supporting the project for this long, and for this I must say THANK YOU! The workshop idea does make sense thanks to you all! :D
